This Privacy Policy explains how the AstroJyotisha website (the "Service") handles information. It is offered as a free service by Dharma Path USA Foundation. If anything here is unclear, email us at astro@astrodeepak.us.
No accounts, no sign-in
The Service does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide a name. There is no password, no user profile, and nothing tying your usage to your identity.
Information you provide
To calculate a birth chart, Rashifal, Kundli Match, or Muhurat, you enter a birth date, time, and place (or, for Kundli Matching, two sets of these). This information is sent to our server only to perform the requested calculation and return the result to you. It is not saved in any database — our server has no persistent storage of birth details, and nothing is linked back to you afterward.
When you search for a birth place by name, the text you type is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoding service to look up its coordinates and timezone.
Location — no GPS access
The website never asks for your device's GPS location and has no location-permission prompt. To suggest a default city for features like Daily Panchang and the Festival Calendar, it asks our server for an approximate location based on your network's IP address, which our server resolves via ip-api.com. This is only ever used to pre-fill a city field, which you can change to anything you like.
Analytics
The website uses Google Analytics to understand overall traffic to the site (page views, general location, device type).
AI features
Some tools on the website — such as the Jyotishi chatbot and certain written interpretations — are generated using the Groq AI API.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your information to anyone.
- We don't build advertising profiles or run targeted ads.
- We don't store your birth details in a database.
- We don't require or collect your name, email, or phone number to use the Service.
Data security
All traffic between the website and our server is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
