📖 Sunderkand Path — Hanuman Ji's Blessing of Strength & Protection
Sunderkand is the fifth kand (Panch Sopan) of Goswami Tulsidas's Shri Ramcharitmanas, narrating Hanuman Ji's leap across the ocean, his meeting with Mata Sita, the burning of Lanka and his return with news of hope. Reciting it with shraddha is believed to remove fear, obstacles and negative energy, and to bring courage, protection and fulfilment of sincere sankalps. This pooja follows three phases: an initial sankalp poojan invoking Ganesh Ji and Hanuman Ji, the Sunderkand path itself — read at your own pace from the downloadable mool paath text (starting from Kishkindha Kand's closing doha, the traditional starting point) — and a closing poojan with aarti and prasad once the path is complete.

📿 Step-by-Step Vidhi
Begin with the purpose of the Sunderkand path and prepare the mind and home for the reading ahead.
Light the deepak and incense before beginning. The family sits together, keeping phones and distractions aside.
Take a small sip of water with the aachaman mantras, then sprinkle water on yourself, family members and the pooja items.
Hold akshat, pushp and jal in the right hand. Speak your name, gotra, family members present, place, date and the purpose of the path — protection, courage, fulfilment of a wish, or gratitude.
Offer akshat and flowers to Bhagwan Ganesha, seeking a smooth and obstacle-free path.
Offer sindoor, chameli oil, akshat and red flowers to Hanuman Ji's image or murti. Light the deepak and dhoop before him.
With folded hands, seek Shri Ram and Hanuman Ji's blessing before beginning. This mangalacharan shlok also opens the downloadable Sunderkand Path PDF.
Now begin the Sunderkand path using the downloadable mool paath PDF (below). Read together as a family, or have one member read aloud while others listen — calmly, clearly and without interruption, ideally in a single sitting. This is the heart of the pooja; take as much time as you need.
On reaching the final doha, offer pranam to Shri Ram and Hanuman Ji with folded hands, grateful for having completed the path.
Perform Hanuman Ji's aarti together as a family, passing the aarti thali and ringing the ghanti.
Offer flowers with the pushpanjali mantra, then seek forgiveness for any shortcoming in the path or pooja.
Complete three pradakshina or namaskar, then distribute and receive the prasad as Hanuman Ji's blessing.
