🐘 Ganesh Pooja — Vighnharta, Siddhi-Vinayak
Bhagwan Shri Ganesh is revered as Vighnharta (remover of obstacles), Buddhi ke Data (bestower of wisdom) and Mangalmoorti. It is our Sanatan tradition to worship him before any auspicious endeavour. Ganesh Pooja brings sukh-shanti, blesses new beginnings in education, business, marriage and griha pravesh, and removes obstacles from family life. The pooja follows the Shodashopachar (16-offering) sequence guided by the purohit — the yajman family participates in sankalp, offerings, aarti and prasad with full shraddha. Key offerings dear to Ganesha Ji: Durva ghas (21 blades), modak/laddoo, red or yellow pushp, chandan/kumkum and nariyal.

📿 Step-by-Step Vidhi
Light the deepak and dhoop/agarbatti before beginning. Bhagwan Shri Ganesh is Vighnharta, Siddhi-Vinayak and Mangalmoorti — every auspicious work begins with his remembrance. The family sits together with mobiles and distractions set aside.
On the priest's direction, take three sips of water for achaman — purifying speech, body and mind. Then take water in the right hand and sprinkle it on yourself and all pooja samagri while chanting the shuddhi mantra.
Take water, akshat and a flower in the right hand. State your name, gotra, place, today's tithi and the purpose of this pooja — new beginning, education, business, marriage, griha pravesh or vighn nivarana. Then release the water into the thali.
Join hands and meditate on Lord Ganesha's divine form — large radiant body, single tusk, kind eyes and his mount the mouse. Invite him into the pooja space with a completely still and devoted mind.
Formally invite Lord Ganesha into the idol or image — take flowers in hand and welcome his divine presence into the ceremony. Lord Ganesha, please accept this seat and bless this home and this family.
Fill the Kalash with water, place akshat, supari and a coin inside, set mango or ashok leaves on top and the coconut above. Participate with shraddha as the priest invokes all holy rivers into the Kalash water.
Offer all sixteen upachar to Lord Ganesha in sequence — Avahan, Asana, Padya, Arghya, Achaman, Snan/Abhishek (with panchamrit or water), Vastra, Yajnopavit, Gandh (chandan/kumkum), Akshat, Pushp and Durva (21 durva blades are especially dear to Ganesha Ji), Dhoop, Deep, Naivedya (modak/laddoo/fruits), Tambool-Dakshina and Pradakshina-Namaskar. If any samagri is unavailable, offer flowers or akshat with full bhav.
Chant Ganesh Atharvashirsha, Ganesh Chalisa, Sankatashan Ganesh Stotra or simply repeat the Ganesh beej mantra. Chanting with devotion and correct pronunciation carries full divine blessing. If time is limited, the purohit will recite a short chosen path.
Perform the full Ganesh aarti with the entire family — pass the aarti thali, ring the bell and sing with full devotion and gratitude. Then take flowers and akshat in both hands and offer pushpanjali, praying for the peace, prosperity and welfare of all family members and all beings.
Offer a heartfelt prayer seeking forgiveness for any errors in mantra, sequence or offering — Lord Ganesha accepts sincere shraddha above perfect performance. Then receive modak, laddoo and fruits as prasad — the Lord's direct ashirvad — with full shraddha and gratitude.
